2018 Peach Update

We wanted to give everyone an updates on peaches considering we’ve had so many questions about when we are going to open u-pick peaches for the season. First of all, peaches are about 5-7 days behind schedule for ripening compared to prior years. We want to provide the best quality of fruit to all of our customers, and we did not want to open until the fruit was ripe. While we do not have an exact date yet, we fully expect to be open by this weekend (August 11th, 12th). We will have an exact opening date in the next couple of days.

While we are opening u-pick peaches a little later than in years past, we have a very large crop this season. The peaches look fantastic, and once open, we anticipating having u-pick peaches through Labor Day weekend. The slowness in ripening has not bearing on the quality and quantity of peaches that we have this year. The quality of peaches we have this year are as good as we’ve seen in the past 30 years. We are excited to have such a wonderful crop this season.

Apples will follow around Labor Day weekend. Please understand that while we are excited to provide you with an update on our crops this season, information can change with the weather. It is always important to make sure we are open before coming to pick peaches or apples.

Continue to check our website or Facebook page for the most up-to-date information. We look forward to seeing all of you again. For more information, go to www.craneorchards.com or call our u-pick recording at 269-561-8651.
